A new Kathy update

Kathy had her tracheotomy surgery yesterday morning. All went well. Mark spent a few hours at the hospital last night...he said when he walked in, she mouthed "hi Bubby". Dan, Mark and Kathy's brother, made a comment about "this is the quietest she's ever been" and she managed to stick her tongue out at him. This is definitely a good sign! She will have to be taught how to speak with a tracheotomy, but she'll be able to talk again. Hopefully the worst will be behind her now and she can have a healthier life!
