I pray you all get your referrals this time! You will love China. I'm no world traveller and was NOT looking forward to having to go to another country, but besides the long flight to our port city of Hong Kong, China was awesome. It was so different than home, but so much alike too. I can't believe we've only been back about 6 weeks...it seems like it was forever ago.
Those first few days with the baby were tough...so much that my first thought (when we got our baby and she wasn't liking me) was "what have I done?". Now I'm just sorry I can't be home with her all the time and spend every single second with her. She's a wonderful baby and the perfect child for us. She is a gift and we're both thankful and grateful that we were chosen to be her parents. She learns new things everyday and I laugh more than I have in a long time. Two weeks after I was back from China, a friend asked how I liked motherhood...then I had no answer...now I can say, with the good and the bad, I LOVE IT! Shayla was worth the 6 years it took us to have the baby we so desperately wanted.
My advice - Enjoy everything and be surprised by nothing. The first few days after "Gotcha Day" or "Family Day", expect the worst and be ready for anything thrown at you.
