Phone calls and e-mails...yeah we're popular!

When I was driving home from work yesterday, Mark called to tell me our agency (CCAI) called to see how we were doing and to see if we had any questions. They just wanted to touch base and make sure we were okay during this long wait. Mark said the representative that called was so friendly and nice. I thought that was awesome. I've read where so many people are unhappy with their agency because their agency won't return phone calls, etc. Before we chose CCAI, I had read so many good things about them. They really are a wonderful agency. I truly believe that the founders, Josh and Lily (both are Chinese) are only in that business because they really want to see orphaned children find good homes. They often write encouraging letters to their waiting families who have this extremely long wait to endure. We've been logged in to (CCAA) China's database now for almost one year!

Then later last night, we got an e-mail from our social worker Erica (from our home study agency, Adoption Assistance in Danville) telling us we should go ahead and set up an appt to have the home study updated and that we should get a package from our home study agency to start re-doing some of our expiring paperwork. This is another agency I would highly recommend. These people really know their stuff! I called today to have the update package sent to us... it should be here in a couple more days. Because the wait has extended over the last year, some of our paperwork will expire (March 2007) and we have to have valid paperwork to be able to travel to China and then return to the U.S. If the paperwork is not valid, we can't get back into the U.S. I hate to have to re-do so much of it...not to mention the approx $875.00 it's gonna cost, but I have to do whatever it takes to make sure we can get our referral and get back home safely.
